Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Black Mesa Ventures LLC (“Black Mesa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Narc Detector mobile application, website, support services, and related features (collectively, the “Services”).

Important: Conversation screenshots and text may contain highly personal information about you or other people. Only submit content you have the right to use, and remove unnecessary names, phone numbers, addresses, financial information, health information, or other identifying details before submitting it.

1. Information we process

Information you provide

• Conversation content: screenshots, pasted text, descriptions, context, profile names or labels, and feedback you submit for analysis.
• Account information: if accounts are offered, information such as your email address, user identifier, and account settings.
• Support communications: your email address and the content of messages sent to support.

Information collected automatically

• App and device data: app version, device and operating-system information, language, general region, timestamps, crash information, and diagnostic events.
• Purchase status: subscription entitlement, product, transaction status, and related identifiers provided by Apple. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
• Website data: basic server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and security events. If analytics are later enabled, this policy will be updated and any required choices will be provided.

2. How we use information

• Provide conversation analysis, scores, evidence, reports, history, and related guidance.
• Maintain subscriptions and restore purchase access.
• Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
• Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms.
• Comply with law and protect users, the public, and our rights.

3. Artificial intelligence processing

To generate an analysis, submitted conversation content and context may be transmitted to service providers that process the content on our behalf, including artificial-intelligence infrastructure providers. We instruct service providers to use data only to provide contracted services and subject them to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Automated analysis can be incomplete or wrong and should not be treated as a diagnosis or professional advice.

4. Storage and retention

Some profiles, reports, and history may be stored locally on your device. Information transmitted for analysis may be retained temporarily as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, debug, and improve the Services, and as required by law. Support records and transaction records may be retained for business, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

5. How we disclose information

We may disclose information to:

• vendors that provide hosting, artificial-intelligence processing, analytics, crash reporting, email, customer support, security, and infrastructure;
• Apple in connection with App Store purchases and platform services;
• professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect rights and safety; and
• a successor in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use the contents of your submitted conversations for third-party targeted advertising.

6. Your choices and rights

You may delete locally stored reports or profiles through available app controls. If you have an account, you may initiate account deletion in the app or follow the instructions on our Account Deletion page. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where legally permitted or required.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information and to appeal certain decisions. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. International use

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the revised policy here, change the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.
